Where the figures come from
Every amount, point value and deadline shown here is transcribed from the primary legislation (e-Gov law data). Each table carries its effective period and its source.
Every value carries status: research — transcribed, not signed off. Sign-off is the reviewer of record's act, and no figure here has been through it.
Standing
This page is not a statutory notice
Japan imposes no general operator-disclosure duty on a non-commercial information site. This page exists voluntarily.
It is deliberately NOT headed as a Specified Commercial Transactions Act notice: that notice belongs to a commerce site, and this site sells nothing. Claiming it would be a false statement about our own position.
What Aokippu is
A reference for the paper in your hand
Aokippu is named after the blue ticket itself, because that document is where nearly every question this site answers begins. The site sets out what the ticket is, what the schedules say it costs, what it scores on the points register, and which deadline applies.
It is published in Japanese and English. The English version is a full translation of the same claims rather than a shortened version for visitors, and Japanese legal terms are kept in place with their kanji, because a reader trying to match a word on a notice needs the word rather than a paraphrase.
There are no advertisements, no analytics and no accounts, and the calculators run entirely in the browser. Nothing you type into them is sent anywhere.
Method
Two tables, kept apart
The recurring editorial decision on this site is to show what each instrument says separately rather than merging sources into a single tidy answer. The hansokukin ceiling is in the Act and the amount is in the Cabinet Order; the points are in a third table again; the abandoned-parking charge is a fourth register with a different payer.
Where two instruments partition something differently and neither states how the partitions correspond, this site shows both and converts between neither. Where a question is genuinely open, it is recorded as open in the same place the sourced material appears, rather than resolved by inference and presented as settled.
That produces a site with more visible seams than most explainers. The seams are in the law, and covering them would mean asserting joins nobody has made.
Limits
What this site does not do
It does not classify alcohol readings, predict licence suspensions or revocations, state expressway mainline default speeds, or describe where and how to physically pay. In each case the reason is the same: the material this site read does not support it, and a confident answer built on that gap would be worse than none.
Each of those boundaries is stated on the pages where a reader would look for the missing thing, with the instrument named. A bounded absence is useful; a silence is not.
Corrections are welcome. If a figure here does not match the instrument it cites, that is a defect worth reporting, and the contact page explains what to include.
NEXT STEP
Start from the ticket in your hand
Once you have the conduct category, the amount, the points and the deadline all follow.
