Being readable and operable comes before looking finished.

Policy

Approach

Contrast ratios are computed rather than estimated. No distinction is ever carried by colour alone: every chip carries a word.

A wide table scrolls inside its own box rather than scrolling the page. That box is reachable by keyboard and carries a name.

On a narrow screen a statutory table is not scrolled sideways at all: it becomes a stacked list, with each row's figures directly under the conduct they belong to. Only one of the two renderings is ever in the page, so nothing is announced twice.

Limits

Known limitations

Statutory conduct descriptions are quoted in full, so some table cells are long. They are not shortened, because a shortened statutory category is a different category.

Where one such cell lists dozens of offences, the stacked mobile view shows the first two and puts the rest behind a disclosure. Nothing is summarised and nothing is dropped — the split is on the statute's own delimiter.

NEXT STEP

Start from the ticket in your hand

Once you have the conduct category, the amount, the points and the deadline all follow.
